4 ',4' '-azobis[[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carboxylic] acid, also known as PPD, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C16H10N2O8 and its molecular weight is 354.27.
4 ',4' '-azobis[[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carboxylic] acid is a red crystal powder, which is insoluble in water at room temperature, however, it can be dissolved in organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide and chloroform. It has good stability and thermal stability in organic solvents.
4 ',4' '-azobis[[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carboxylic] acid is widely used in the synthesis of organic photoelectric materials, such as photoconductive materials, organic solar cells, organic fluorescent materials and liquid crystal displays.
